Fabulous Frisco Females
Fabulous Frisco Females is an ongoing project to portray some of the grand ladies of San Francisco in stained glass. There are only two portraits on this page, those of Katharine Cebrian (on the right,) who presided over the social life of the city for decades and Madi Bacon (on the left) who was the founder of the San Francisco Boys Chorus, its conductor for many years and who established its reputation as one of the country's best. I was able to do these two portraits because I knew both women as friends and could get a sense of who each was inside. (There has been a third Frisco Female who was without doubt Fabulous, and that was Judge Ollie Marie-Victoire! She, however, commissioned a dragon. And while I could definitely include many of her delightful charms in that dragon... her eyes for example... it does not qualify as an official portrait... ) I really need to get out there some more! Since these screens were completed San Francisco has produced a Speaker of the House!!!!!!!!! and a US Senator!!!!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder if they'd be willing to pose..................
