An Iris Water Garden
The Commission:
"We have a home in the Oakland Hills and we don't want to block our views of all four of the Bay Area's major bridges What do you recommend?"
"How about a folding screen? "
They loved the idea! They chose a Japanese water garden with iris, black bamboo, and VERY carefully shaped and placed rocks....

This was the very first of my folding screens. Unfortunately there are very few pictures of it. It was destroyed in the Oakland fire of 1991....
